Take a stroll with one of our horticulturalists to see orchids and learn about Hawaiian plants and flowers.
Explore the Hakalau Gardens on Your Own
Spend an unforgettable day in the lush gardens at Botanical World Adventures! With our self-guided tour, you can take in our beautiful gardens and surrounding trail at your leisure! Maybe you want to race through our maze or stroll along the River Walk to the gently tumbling waters and intimate Hanapueo Waterfall. With our day pass, you not only have access to these attractions, you also have access to the Walking Stick self-guided audio tour!
The plants come to life as our garden director runs through some of the many interesting aspects of the Rainbow Garden and beyond. The lower 26 acres are groomed gardens for you to enjoy, and the Rain Forest Trail is a mild hike that progressively becomes more challenging.
From there, you can continue on to Kamaee Falls, one of the more pristine waterfalls in Hawaii. See if you can spot the climbing fish making their way upstream. In the waterfall, you can see some of the five types of native fish in Hawaii that can only be found here!
Altogether, we have hundreds of acres of gardens, trails, and waterfalls to view. Panoramic views of paniola greens, Mauna Kea, and the blue Pacific Ocean are coupled with areas that are completely enclosed by the rain forest canopy. In a word, it’s amazing! We look forward to your visit so you can experience this truly unique Hawaiian adventure.
Please note that garden hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
